Kickstartnews Revue - Podcast #39 - Show Notes for February 19, 2006

Here's the lineup for show #39:
  • Hot News: We've been watching the wires for stories that concern small business this week. It's all about treating customers properly, protecting your hardware and software and communicating with confidence;
  • Letters to the Editor: A reader wants to know whatever happened to the After Dark screensaver. We've also got some sound recording queries and somebody wants to know what's best for multi-track work on the PCs;
  • Kickstartnews Confab: It's all about personal time at work. How much so-called personal time do you take during the work day - is any personal time at all an infringement of employers' rights to get the best and the most out of employees, and how do you deal with the abusers;
  • Big City Byte: Have you ever walked toward the exit of a big box department store and been asked to submit to a bag and receipt check? Most of us have. The policy has been around for decades if not longer. But there's a new generation of shoppers hitting the stores these days, and they're really not happy about having to submit to bag and receipt checks. Howard examines the realities and the legalities of this pervasive policy.
