$100 laptop is a go...

With production having begun on the OLPC, things are looking interesting in the world of computing. Both Intel and AMD are contributors to this project to bring computing to the rest of the world. But even at $100 this is still more than 3 full months wages for many of the adults living in the third world.

With sponsors jumping on board we should homefully see many of these units appearing in schools all over the place. Something to watch will be the appearance of rival projects from Intel and others...
