iCalamus — links & information
To find out all you need to know about trying and understanding the latest version (for Mac or Windows) of this venerable and remarkable product, go to the iCalamus web site.
For those who don't know it, desktop publishing is essentially a discipline based on some sort of software which allows you to create all sorts of publishable materials. Whether you're creating an advertising flyer or a full color coffee table book, a novel, magazine, newspaper or what have you, desktop publishing software should be your primary tool. In the case of mature versions of Calamus for Windows (i.e., Calamus SL 2006), it's the only thing you need. With the right set of plug-ins you should never have to leave the software. Write, edit and lay out text from almost any source, spell check, hyphenate, add photos, charts and graphs, design and draw vector art, edit vector objects, mask, flow, gradient, etc., etc., etc. The list of features and functions is amazing. You need to see and try this software. Read our Calamus SL 2006 review here.

We Are Puddings! We Forgot Some Show Notes Last Week!
Mea Culpa — that's latin for "Doh!" Ah well. Element & Stein was the featured interview — Cory Koski in particular. We interviewed Cory because of his inimitable competence and the common sense approach he brings to web site design and development. The whole point is to find a web site developer and host that understands your needs and is versatile enough to fulfill them. Visit Element & Stein online here.
Google is the Next Computing Platform
Don't believe us? Then why not try word processing online with Writely right now (or you can wait until it's fully integrated with My Google). Don't need word processing? Perhaps spreadsheets are your cup of tea? No problem. Google has just released the cleverly named Google Spreadsheets. Try it out here. Still not convinced? Download Google Picasa to edit and organize all your digital photos. There's more. GMail is fully established now too, with tens of millions of users. It's all just around the corner folks. Microsoft's next big competitor is Google and it's a choice that could work quite well for tens of millions of home and small business computer users.
